AJIO's settlement engine has structurally higher leakage than Myntra or Nykaa for two reasons: RTO claw-back rate is higher (18-25%), and the Reliance settlement model bills RTOs against the seller more aggressively than other marketplaces. Combined, these mean the average brand has more recoverable money sitting in AJIO settlement reports than in Myntra or Nykaa reports.

We run order-level recon monthly. Average brand recovers ₹2.2L in the first 60 days — typically split as ₹1.4L from invalidated RTO claw-backs and ₹0.8L from commission + TDS mismatches.

Most brands intuit that recon matters. Few brands realize how much of AJIO recon recovery comes specifically from RTO claw-back validation. Reliance's settlement engine bills RTO costs against the seller proactively, before the actual return is confirmed received. About 8-12% of those proactive bills turn out to be against units that were never actually returned — buyer refused but the parcel found its way back to the seller, or the buyer changed their mind mid-transit and the parcel was redelivered.

None of those should be billed to the seller. All of them need to be disputed. Brands that don't run this audit lose 1.5-2.5 margin points to silent RTO leakage they don't know is happening.
